Frequently Asked Questions
- 01Imagine hypnosis like drifting into a lazy daydream—fully relaxed yet totally awake. You’ve probably slipped into trance a dozen times today without noticing. Maybe you sat in a meeting, your thoughts wandering to dinner plans or a project deadline, then suddenly blinked and realized you’d been somewhere else for a moment. In a hypnosis session, it feels just like that gentle drift—but you stay connected. You’ll hear my voice, notice the room around you, and remain in control while your mind eases into a calm, open state.
- 02Hypnosis isn’t about drifting off to sleep—it’s about putting your nervous system into a relaxed state. You stay fully awake and aware of everything around you, yet none of it pulls your focus away. In that calm, open space you can gently turn your attention inward, exploring thoughts, feelings, or goals with fresh clarity. And rest easy: you’ll never do anything in trance that you wouldn’t freely choose to do when you’re fully conscious. So yes, you remain in control.
- 03In many cases one session is all that is needed, but it can take several sessions to overcome deeply ingrained habits or beliefs. Freeing yourself from behavioural problems is sometimes like peeling the skin away on an onion, and removing a layer may reveal something else that needs to be dealt with. The answer to this question depends very much on each individual case. I can advise better on how many sessions you might need during our initial consultation.
- 04No professional will guarantee results. However, the fact that most of my clients come to me via referrals is the best indication I can give of how effective hypnosis is in helping people become free of their problems. - 05After a hypnotherapy session, you’ll likely feel deeply relaxed, perhaps a bit drowsy at first. Many clients experience a sense of empowerment, fresh insights, or even a surge of energy. The transformative effects often continue to unfold in the days and weeks that follow, bringing clarity and meaningful shifts.
- 06I work with anyone who is committed to change. Mostly, I see clients who want relief from stress and anxiety, depression, burnout, a lack of confidence, insomnia and focus problems. The commitment to come for a session must be yours, as opposed to your partner’s wishes or those of your parents.
- 07Hypnosis is a natural state that we go into throughout the day, so you have already experienced this, probably without realising it. Everyone is different, so some people will go into trance more easily and deeper than others. How quickly or deeply you go into trance has no impact on the success of the treatment.
- 08Hypnosis works just as well using Google Meet, Whatsapp Video or Facetime, as it does in person. All you need is a reliable internet connection and a place where you won’t be disturbed throughout the session.
- 09Your mind learns through repetition, much like athletes training to perfect their skills. By listening to the hypnosis audio daily, you strengthen the new neural pathways formed during your session, making positive changes feel natural over time. While 21 days is a recommended minimum, continuing beyond this period helps solidify these changes, ensuring lasting transformation.
- 10A free discovery call allows us to connect and ensure we have the right rapport to work effectively together. Building trust and mutual understanding is essential for successful hypnotherapy, alongside your commitment to making meaningful changes.
